The news we have all been waiting for is here – details of the largest ship built exclusively for Britain have been revealed.
P&O Cruises new ship Britannia will launch in March 2015 and offer the line’s most exciting experience yet. Presenting the 'best of the best' she is set to combine classic P&O features along with brand new innovative concepts.
At a press launch evening held at London's Forman's Fish Island last night, P&O showcased an interactive set up to give guests a glimpse of what it will be like onboard. From a three course meal in the The Limehouse Club to a performance from Craig Revel Horwood and the Strictly Come Dancing performers, a fantastic evening was had by all.
Guests will be stunned as soon as they step into the atrium with its 'starburst' centrepiece. The glamorous entrance will set the scene for the rest of the ship that will boast a stunning theatre with a full LED wall, a stylish spa, exquisite dining venues and a one million pound art collection.
Britannia will be the first ship to see five celebrity chefs working together on the same ship. The five 'food heroes' to take guests on a culinary journey like nothing before will be Marco Pierre White, Atul Kochhar, Olly Smith, James Martin and Eric Lanlard. These were unveiled at the special event last night with exclusive cookery demonstrations to give guests an insight to what will be available onboard.
On sale 26 March 2014 her sailings will include an ex-Southampton programme during the summer to include 2 to 14 night cruises and a Caribbean fly-cruise programme during winter. Overnights will also be featured including Madeira, St Petersburg and Barbados.
During her maiden year she will visit 57 ports, 31 countries and sail over 90 thousand miles. Britannia's inaugural voyage will be a 14 night Western Med cruise from Southampton. Her first season is promised to be a long celebration starting with a departure ceremony as she leaves for her maiden cruise.
In July 2015 Britannia will sail a 12 night circumnavigation cruise of the British Isles to include unique landscapes such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Cork and Guernsey. See the full list of Britannia sailings.
