Summary: I and my husband went on Magnifica for 7 nights and every day I was surprised by how professional those people are! The staff are very helpful and they did their jobs more than perfectly! Food was served almost all the time! The menus of the seated lunches and dinners were exquisite and diverse! The coffee breaks were great. The ship is super clean and new. Our stay was very comfortable and pleasant. We had some trouble with our airport transfers and though it is none of their business, the staff, especially a gentleman from the housekeeping management was sweet enough to take care of our luggage on his own to help us pass the time till our flight which was late after our disembarkation! He even went with us to catch a taxi to the airport.

This was far beyond his job description and it was very helpful. We were very pleased with MSC.

Summary: We have just returned from a 17 day cruise on the Magnifica, from Italy across to Brazil. We have cruised with numerous different carriers over the past few years, but had a great deal with MSC, so decided to give it a try. The ship itself is quite Magnifica, really well appointed, with some very impressive public spaces. Bars and Lounges are well laid out and really well finished, giving a quality feel everywhere you go.

Our (balcony) cabin was really well laid out, and felt more spacious than other balcony cabins we have been in in the past (bigger than our Celebrity cabin which we were on last April). Facilities were great, we sailed from Italy, so the first few days were cooler, so the indoor pool area was really handy, and as soon as the weather warmed up, the roof slid off. Also, we felt that all public spaces were very quiet, plenty of sun loungers around both pools, plenty of seats in bars and lounges, but the ship had a good feeling of activity and fun most of the time, with activities available if you wanted them, but quiet spaces available. The staff really tried hard, and given the fact that they had to speak Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and English, they generally did a good job.

There were some down sides, like having to pay for table water, and not having a coffee after meals, which weren't too much of a big deal. Food, was, however a bit hit and miss, but generally, starters, soups, pasta and deserts were good, but mains were more poor than great. No good steak, no lobster, and fairly small portions (main courses), but there was always something to eat, and the dinning service breakfasts were fantastic. Some things were a little annoying, smoking for example in the lounges and up on deck, and other countries behave a little differently to Brits, but generally a good holiday
