Summary:  Just returned from an 11 night "cruise" on MS Trollfjord sailing from Bergen up to Kirkenes and back down again. It is a working ship so don't expect all the glitz and glamour you get on other cruise ships. Suited us fine! This is the second time we have done this trip and loved it so much the first time, decided to repeat it. We flew from Gatwick to Bergen and transferred by bus to the ship and vice versa. We were in a Mini Suite (736) which gave us a bit more room than the standard cabins. Iglu had given us each £150 on board credit. When checking this at reception and not sure what to spend it on, as don't drink, we were asked if we would like an upgrade to a full Suite (822). We used our credit plus extra cash and upgraded from Kirkenes back down to Bergen. What luxury and well worth the extra we paid. A full bathroom ie bath, basin, walk in shower and loo, a clothes closet; king size bed with two separate duvets; sitting area with sofa and 2 chairs and coffee table; TV; fridge; kettle etc and masses of cupboard space. Our view outside was ceiling to floor bay windows. Fresh fruit on arrival and a bottle of fizz! Given complementary dressing gowns, fleece rugs, slippers, toiletries, binoculars etc, all to take home. The ship itself is very comfortable and the food, very very yummy! The staff were all very friendly and always wiling to help. We called in and out of 34 ports. Some we were only in for 15 minutes, others for 3 to 4 hours. Plenty choice of excursions though i thought they were rather expensive. Would love to repeat the trip again but not quite so early in the year as daylight was very limited. Perhaps we will go in the summer next time. Thoroughly recommend Hurtigruten to everyone.

Summary:  I found the ship to be very clean and very warm, the cabins were very small and not a lot of storage but we managed by putting suitcases under the bunks. The heated bathroom floor was brilliant. The onboard loud speaker system wasnt very clear in all public places. We didnt stay in ports for very long which was a bit sad as some of them looked very interesting, the scenery was worth every penny and we did see the northern lights. The food onboard was of a very high standard. The buffet wasnt open all the time and sometimes there was a long time between lunch and a set evening meal so hunger was an issue as food to buy on board was very expensive. The transfers were flawless and very quickly dealt with, superb. Being a little ship we felt all the rough seas.

Summary:  I have just returned from a fantastic 6 day cruise with Hurtigruten on MS Trolifjord. It was an amazing experience, the scenery was unbelievably beautiful. Everything about this coastal cruise was perfect. The food was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly without being over attentive, the cabins are well thought out with ample storage. I hope to be able to do the southbound journey at some point. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys being alive!

Summary:  I was lucky enough to join Hurtigruten for 3 nights on one of their Southbound journeys from Tromso, high above the Arctic Circle, to Trondheim. With 11 ships and 34 ports of call Hurtigruten is by far the best way to see the breathtaking Norwegian coastline. Before joining our ship we experienced one of the highlights of this trip: a husky safari through the snowy, Norwegian wilderness (definitely recommend pre-booking this trip!) and you can 'mush' your own sled if the dogs behave.
