The MS Polar Star was built in1969 and is ranked highly amongst the small fleet of the Arctic expedition cruise ships. It is the first former icebreaker to be fully converted to expedition cruising. The MS Polar Star has a comfortable dining room, large panorama lounge, lecture theatre, library and bar and a small gym. The cabins face out and all feature a window. Most of the cabins are double with two lower berths. Suites are also available. The MS Polar Star is specially equipped for expedition cruising in polar waters and has a fleet of Zodiacs, (inflatable rubber boats), available for the excursions.
