Hurtigruten offer a genuinely unique cruise experience, with MS Fram offering something even more special. Built with expedition cruises in mind, this exceptional ship takes her passengers to the most remote, stunning and inspiring locations on the planet. As well as memorable destinations, the emphasis onboard MS Fram is on relaxation and enrichment, and thus moves away from commercial entertainment. The aim here is to get closer to the unique environments, and to share this with fellow travellers, while still enjoying delicious cuisine, evenings spent unwinding and days spent exploring new places.

The restaurants onboard, including the buffet and bistro, are relatively informal and fully licensed. Hurtigruten are proud of their environmental heritage and as such source locally available, fresh produce to serve onboard. Dining is normally at a set time, at a reserved table, and is a great time to discuss the day's explorations. Also featured are bars and cafes.
All meals onboard are served at the Imaq restaurant where breakfast and lunch are open-seating buffets and dinner either a buffet or plated meals.
Due to the working nature of Hurtigruten vessels, the entertainment onboard is quite different to those on regular cruise ships. Musical entertainment is featured occasionally, however the main emphasis is on relaxation and sharing experiences with fellow travellers. The experience can be enriched by attending lectures from experts in the lounge who are enthusiastic about imparting their fascinating insight into diverse topics on eager guests.
MS Fram boasts excellent leisure facilities, including a gym, sauna and two heated outdoor jacuzzis so you can enjoy the fresh air from the comfort of warm water. There is also a glass-enclosed observation lounge, sun deck, board room and onboard shop.
When you sail with MS Fram, you can take advantage of a wide range of included amenities, activities and more. From a reusable water bottle that you can take home with you, to access to the sauna, onboard activities, coffee, tea and soft drinks, walking equipment, an expeditions logbook, included gratuities and more!
And if you’re sailing from October 2024 onwards, you can look forward to an ‘all inclusive’ offering, which not only includes the above, but expert-led daily expeditions and science-led activities (on and off shore), a selection of alcoholic beverages (from 1pm each day of your cruise), professional photographs, an Expedition jacket and Starlink Wi-Fi.

Sailed to Antarctica Nov 2016. Also previously to Svalbard in 2011. Were excellent expedition voyages. Staff / expedition leaders were brilliant. All zodiac Cruising was executed professionally even though were some breakdowns on both voyages. Cabins, small and basic, especially if sharing, but clean and had everything needed. Food was good with plenty of choice.
Just returned from our second trip on the Fram went to Greenland and Iceland this time and Svalbard last time. Elxcellent arrangements of tours on all occasions excellent food and excellent staff cabins rather basic but very clean. Fully occupied at all time with lectures and excursions.
