Day 1 of Land Tour: Arrive Beijing
On arrival into Beijing Capital International Airport, be met by your local guide and transfer to your hotel for a 3 night stay.
Day 2 of Land Tour: Beijing
Today you will walk on the Great Wall to appreciate 2,000 years of historical significance and admire the panoramic views. The Great Wall is China’s most iconic attraction, which stretches over 4,000 miles from the Shanhaiguan Pass on the east coast to the Gobi Desert in the west. Return to Beijing and take a wander round the tranquil Summer Palace.
Watch an Acrobatic show this evening and dine on delicious Peking Duck.
Day 3 of Land Tour: Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, which is the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China from the Ming and Qing Dynasties and houses over 8,000 rooms.
After lunch, take in the harmonious ambience of the Temple of Heaven.
Day 4 of Land Tour: Beijing – Xian
Fly to Xian, the ancient capital of China. Visit the lovely Little Wild Goose Pagoda and the treasures of the Shaanxi Museum.
Take some time to walk through the atmospheric alleys of the Muslim Quarter.
This evening dine on delicious Shui Jiao dumplings and watch a Tang Dynasty dancing show.
Day 5 of Land Tour: Xian
Visit one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century – the Terracotta Warriors. The figures were created 2,000 years ago to accompany Qin Shihuang into the afterlife.
Visit the workshop where smaller models of the warriors are made before taking a walk on the City Walls.
Day 6 of Land Tour: Xian – Chengdu
Fly to Chengdu. Visit China’s most lovable resident, the Giant Panda, at the Chengdu Panda Research Base. A look around the informative museum gives an overview of the reserve’s breeding programme.
Day 7 of Land Tour: Chengdu – Chongqing – Yangtze River Cruise
Transfer from Chengdu to Chongqing where you will board your Yangtze River cruise vessel for a 3 night stay.
Day 8-9 of Land Tour: Yangtze River
Cruise down the Yangtze River, passing through the Three Gorges. You will also take some shore excursions at either Fengdu or Shibaozhai; and the Shennong Stream or Goddess Stream.
Day 10 of Land Tour: Yichang - Shanghai
Today visit one of China’s most spectacular constructions, the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydro-electric dam in the world. Disembark your cruise ship and fly to Shanghai.
Day 11 of Land Tour: Shanghai
Today start your touring at the Yu Garden and the Old Town. Head to the Shanghai Museum to see many ancient artefacts before taking a stroll on the Bund where you can admire the art deco architecture.
Visit a Silk Museum and this evening cruise on the Huangpu River before dining on delicious Shanghainese cuisine.
Day 12 of Land Tour: Depart Shanghai
