British born cruise line Cruise and Maritime are pleased to announce a new addition to their leading and traditional five strong fleet. Magellan, named after the famous Portuguese explorer, will be the new flagship to set sail in the summer of 2015 on a maiden voyage to Iceland and the Faroes for the Solar Eclipse and Northern Lights.
Combined with an elegantly time-honoured and comfortable interior, the adult only atmosphere enables passengers to relax, unwind or socialise at a steady and desirable pace with many attractive on-board facilities. Magellan plans to embark on further tours of discovery reaching faraway and exotic destinations such as the Amazon in winter 2016.
With a home port of London Tilbury, departure points will also include Newcastle upon Tyne and Dundee.
Magellan delivers an enticing dining experience with two beautifully appointed dining rooms, the Waldorf and Kensington Restaurants for set dining, plus an additional bistro for casual and informal dining.
The variety of activities and things to do on-board Magellan will keep passengers entertained for hours. From the cool, swanky atmosphere of Sinatra’s Lounge Bar to the buzzing Casino or Card & Bridge room there are countless opportunities to socialise and absorb the unique on-board experience. Catch a show in the Main Lounge, dance the night away in Scott’s nightclub or simply sit back and enjoy the magnificent views from one of three available deck bars.
Passengers can relax, unwind or keep active with top of the range on-board spa and wellness facilities.
Take it easy with a slow pace in the smooth and charming on-board library, or pick up some great mementos in the Boutique and Shopping Galleria.
