Summary: Just got back from a glitz and glamour cruise to the Med. Although only a week it felt much longer. The crew were terrific. Couldn't do enough for you.

And the fact that it was all inclusive meant you had no worries about mounting bar bills. There was no stuffy black tie night and smart casual every evening suited us fine, just as we would normally dress on a land based holiday. Good choices of excursions which were just as good as on other cruise lines but not as expensive. How they do it for the money I don't know but it was great value.

Only criticism (small!!) was the jams they served at breakfast were tasteless. They should look at their supplier for these.

Summary: This was the first time we had been on the Island Escape, as we have previously been with Royal Carribean and MSC, but we had a great time. Yes the ship is getting older but the rooms were clean, the entertainment was excellent and the staff were some of the friendliest we have ever seen. This was our first informal style cruise and while we do like to get dressed up for dinner we did still enjoy the main restaurant. We found there was less options available on each meal, the food was of very good standard as I sometimes feel that because there are so many options on other cruises the quality sometimes suffers.

Although the cruise is all inclusive we never had any problems with people overindulging and becoming unruly. I don't know if it was the staff attitude rubbing off on the guests but the passengers were also the friendliest I have ever cruised with and this made the whole holiday a fantastic experience. We were on the Glitz and Glamour cruise and we found the destinations of Ajaccio Rome, Florence, Barcelona and Cannes to be beautiful and intersting locations to visit. I have to admit that many of the newer ships have much more facilities and more options on where to eat and drink and entertainment types but i was never bored at any point during the holiday.

Would I go on this ship again? I have to say that i could not fault anything during this holiday and I would love to travel on the Escape anytime in the future.
