Royal Caribbean

Independence of the Seas

As the largest ship to ever be home-ported in England, the 160,000 ton Independence of the Seas is a liner you have to see to really believe.

P&O Arcadia Royal Caribbean cruises stand out because of the incredible variety of activities available onboard. The Independence of the Seas upholds this tradition in every way you'd want it to. From the towering rock-climbing wall, to the professional ice skating shows, there's that little extra that make this cruise stand out above the rest.

Along with the excellent arrangement of activities, you'll also be spoilt for choice by way of dining and drinking options with the ship's excellent array of restaurants and bars.

Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a light snack, you're never far from an eatery. Casual, relaxed meals can be found in the Windjammer and Promenade cafés, while more formal dining is saved for the luxurious Main Dining Room with splendid décor and divine dishes. Drinking is equally as plentiful with the Crown and Kettle pub giving you that traditional, homely feeling. Or perhaps you'd prefer something a little more vibrant? In which case the distinctive Schooner Bar can offer you a whole host of speciality drinks to go with the cosy leather chairs and warm teakwood decoration.

As you head from port to port on your choice of Caribbean cruises, filling your day with activities won't be a problem, either. From easing yourself into the day with a quick jog around the Sports Deck, you could slide into Studio B for a professional ice-skating show. Then after lunch you could try out the colossal rock-climbing wall with instructors for beginners and still enough challenge for the experienced. As you stroll into the evening, work up your appetite with a wander around the fantastic shops and galleries before heading for a meal. As the night draws in, you can finish with a spectacular show at the richly decorated, magnificent theatre.

Not forgetting that kids are showered with options, too. The new Crown & Anchor Society Youth Program can let under 18s receive great onboard benefits and there are specialised programs for all ages. From Aqua Tots for the toddlers - with toys and learning activities, to games, sports and parties for those a bit older.

The Independence of the Seas is a ship not just for family cruise holidays, but for people of all ages and those looking for a bit more adventure and excitement. With countless other discoveries to make during the course of your stay, from the impressive casino to the glorious spa, it makes this ship perfect for Mediterranean cruises filled with fun and action.
