Scandinavian Summer, 22 May 2010

I treated my daughter, two children ages 9 & almost 4, my daughter in law and my other two grandchildren ages 9 & 6 and my daughter in law's mother - so eight in two outside staterooms. We travelled to Zeebrugge for Bruges, Oslo, Helsingborg and Copenhagen. The ship was beautiful, very clean everywhere, the children had a choice of inside or outside swimming pools and clubs to attend according to their age groups. We chose anytime dining as we thought this would suit us all better. We were not tied to each other all the time but chose to pursue different activities but met up and had formal nights together. The whole atmosphere was warm and friendly, the crew were superb which seems is the norm on a Princess Cruise - this was my second but first for the rest of the family. We only disembarked the ship once in Copenhagen to see the Little Mermaid, the changing of the guards and a drive around the city by Hop on Hop off bus. It was very hot on that particular day. The food on board was excellent, beautifully presented in the formal dining rooms, but quality, quantity and wide choice in the 24 hour Food Court was, actually more to the liking of some of us and we ate there a great deal of the time. The waiting staff were helpful, great with the children, patient, caring, lovely to talk with and we were really made to feel very special. Not all the family will be in a position to cruise again, but for those of us that can, we will stay with Princess while they are able to provide departures from Southampton, just for the ease of getting there and the ease of boarding procedures with no luggage restrictions and long may it be so.
