Celebrity Cruises - Azamara Journey

Celebrity Cruises' new Expedition class ship set sail in May 2007.

This year Celebrity Cruises are going to be considerably expanding their Expedition extension of the Celebrity fleet. Currently, the Expedition Class only features one ship, the Celebrity Xpedition, which sails adventurous itineraries to the Galapagos Islands.

However, in April, Azamara Journey joined her in the Celebrity Cruises Expedition fleet, ready for her inaugural sailing to Bermuda in May.

The 30 000 ton, 710-passenger Azamara Journey will be accompanied by another Expedition Class sister ship, Azamara Quest, later in the year.

With the introduction of Azamara Journey, Celebrity Cruises are aiming to upscale their small-ship Expeditions brand, by offering a more intimate cruise holiday experience that takes in the more unique ports of call around the world.

Between May and October this year Azamara Journey will sail 7 night cruise holidays to Bermuda from the Cape Liberty cruise port in New Jersey. From October until April 2008, Azamara Journey will boldly venture to some of the more remote corners of the world, including Antarctica, Brazil, the Chilean Fjords and other faraway regions of South America.

Both Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest will undergo one month drydock periods for renovation. During this revitalizing overhaul, Celebrity Cruises will add 32 brand new suites as well as new, luxurious bedding and soft furnishings throughout.

Azamara Journey will incorporate 15 classes of accommodation, with each and every stateroom enjoying butler and concierge services. Alongside this, Azamara Journey will house Celebrity Cruises' signature AquaSpa by Elemis, so guests onboard the Azamara Journey can feel pampered over every wave of their Celebrity cruise holiday.

Other features onboard Azamara Journey include the sophisticated Martini Bar, the Celebrity Cruises internet café, Online@Celebrity and Michael's Bar, the perfect spot in which to enjoy a relaxing nightcap as you listen to the soothing sounds of the piano.
