Lovely ship, immaculate. Food high quality with plenty of choice. Helpful staff. Excellent excursions, well organised with no queues. Stateroom 8116 was so quiet, perfect balcony room.

I have to say that although it was a mini cruise - it was one of the best travel experiences I have had . On booking with yourselves we were given a guaranteed upgrade should anyone pull out - which we got . We were given great advice by Chloe - who I believe was on board at the same time . I cannot fault the experience - and will be booking with yourselves again very soon. The ship and staff were fantastic! I cannot complain about a thing . Thank you for all your help

We have just returned from a Canary Island cruise aboard the Celebrity Eclipse. When we arrived at Southampton, we found embarkation an absolute breeze. As we boarded the ship, we were greeted with a glass of champagne: this we thought was a lovely touch. Proceeding through the ship we were impressed with the modern interior of the Eclipse: all stainless steel & glass which makes for a very light & airey ship. We foung our way to our cabin (sorry stateroom) 9230 which was a balcony cabin on deck 9 starboard. Again we found the cabin to be light, spacious and spotlessly clean. We had heard bad reports about the lack of storage in the cabin, but found it to be perfectly adequet for a two week cruise. The bathroom was superb with loads of storage and a proper glass shower doors rather than a curtain. The cabin contained robes, a kettle and tea, coffee & cups which most American ships don't supply. One very good idea is the permenant subdued lighting in the bathroom which doesn't flood the cabin with light if one has to get up in the night to use the loo. Upon exploring the public rooms of the ship, we found these to be beautifully furnished again in a very modern style. Food in both the "Moonlight Sonata" dining room and the Ocean View buffet dining rooms was varied and of good quality. the waiting staff in both dining rooms were courteous and friendly. Entertainment onboard was very good: the Celebrity singers & dancers put on some excellent "West End" style shows and visiting acts were gernerally good. I Might add that the cruise director Sue Denning was superb and worked so hard (I don't know when she managed any rest) When we booked with Iglu, the deal included the Classic Drinks package (We found this perfectly adequet for our needs) and also $300 on board credit plus a contribution to the gratuities, all of this was very welcomed by us. Now for what is perhaps our only gripe: COMPUTER GENERATED PIPED "MUSAK" This nearly drove us potty and was almost inescapable: it played continuously in the corridors,in the bars, in the Ocean View dining room. Come on Celebrity, not only is this music unneccessary, but also undesirable and this disapproval was expressed by many other people. It belongs to a Carneval cruiseship not the more upmarket Celebrity, Moan over. Anyway, a super ship, and a thouroughly enjoyable cruise.

Had an amazing cruise on Eclipse 7th September 2014, it was 99% perfect. Everything from the food to the service, the cleanliness, the friendliness of staff, the shows, entertainment etc all utterly fabulous. We got a fab price for the cruise in the 1st place then Iglu kindly offered us an upgrade from a guarantee inside cabin to an Aqua class balcony for £10pppn! Unbelieveable opportunity for us, to eat in Blu & have a balcony we felt spoilt. The only things that we didn't like 100% were Blu & Murano. Blu was cramped, service was hit & miss, breakfast was quite bad some mornings (very undercooked eggs & bacon) all depended where you sat, we only ate in there for 5 nights & 3 breakfasts so glad we hadn't paid the full price for aquaclass. Ate in Murano on the 2nd night, unbelievable hard sell from the waiter the second we got in,trying to sell us the "Chefs table" Only special people are asked, only people that know good food, very lucky people that we choose etc. I had belly pork that was just a lump of fat & tasteless turbot, left feeling hungry. These are the only 2 things I can point out that disappointed me but EVERYTHING else was amazing. Will definitely choose Iglu & Celebrity for my cruises from now on..Many thanks Iglu. Sue Denning rang our cabin on the last day to thank me for the kind words I'd put on the comment card, I was overwhelmed that she took time out of her busy day to thank me!! Above & beyond.

The Celebrity Eclipse is a modern ship, which appears to be well maintained with only slight signs of wear and tear. The cabin staff are mainly filipino so by default the service is tiptop. We had a concierge stateroom on deck 10 aft and it was superb if a little expensive. For our money we had a bottle of champagne in our cabin on the first day and fresh fruit everyday and free use of bathrobes! There were a number of places for casual dining (which we prefer). The ocean view cafe was very good with plenty of choice at all meals, although the soups were not up to much considering the amount of leftover food they had to play with, nearly every day they had miso soup which looked and tasted like lukewarm dish water. A big waste of time, effort and money was the sushi counter: it looked very impressive and colourful but was little used, which was not surprising as the vast majority of the passengers were over 60 and british. One criticism was the continuous non-appropriate music pumped out at every meal. There was a burger bar on the pool deck, which was quite basic, but adequate. There were facilities dotted around the pool and sun bathing decks for free hot and cold drinks and ice cream. There were also a number of themed restaurants for which there were cover charges. Six US dollars for a litre of water. 10 to 12. 5 dollars for a glass of wine or a shot of spirit, 4 dollars 50 for a can of coke, fanta, sprite etc. And 8 to 9. 5 dollars for a small bottle of beer, plus 15 percent service charge on top. And don't forget this is in addition to the "discretionary" service charge of 12 dollars per person per day! Don't forget the operative word here is "discretionary”, so you get it removed from your bill and tip your cabin attendant, waiter etc personally in cash. Entertainment/activities not very good, there were some decent British entertainers who were original and funny. One of the "shows" was loosely based on the Circus Soleil, there was much too much going in the background, which distracted from the main performers, basically about 8 gymnasts and a conjurer. This being an American ship but sailing from Southampton with predominately (90% at a guess) British passengers it still had all the hype that you expect on an American ship. Gambling was heavily promoted plus the rip off art "auctions" and "bargains" on jewellery and watches. Shore excursions again very expensive and all promoted heavily shops that celebrity had some sort of kick back link with. Internet connectivity, sixty dollars for 90 minutes and ran like a snail. Photographs, another total rip off, 25 dollars for a single photograph. This was our 7th cruise but our first with Celebrity overall I would not say it was bad but I would not travel with Celebrity again. Princess and Costa are far better.

Just got off the Eclipse. A lovely ship, fantastic service, food and staff, however be careful of the cabin you get we where in 6102 which is fwd, terribly noisy especially when leaving/docking which sometimes can be 05.30 in the morning! We also found that entry to the Sky Lounge which is a great viewing point was restricted to Elite guests on certain evenings, we turned up and there where only 5 elite guests in the lounge, still we where refused entry, it was not generally "posted" that the lounge was being used for a private function. The other disappointment for us was the failure to enforce the dress code in the main restaurant on the formal evenings, people in jeans, polo shirts etc, perhaps the bigger issue was the restaurant manager informing me that he didn't know the rules regarding the dress code which is ridiculous. We never went to any other formal evenings like a lot of other guests, we are not great dressing up people but we respect the rules. Such a shame that a few people plus the failure of the management to enforce the rules spoilt the experience for us.

When James at iglu asked if our first cruise was for an occasion I told him it was to celebrate my husbands early retirement from being a head chef for 27 years. He suggested an upgrade to Aqua Class as it included the exclusive use of Blu restaurant...WOW! The food was spectacular, lobster tail, short ribs, exquisite deserts, in sensible sized portions were expertly cooked. The service was professional, unobtrusive but friendly. We had planned on sampling many of the dining options on board but only strayed once. Blu wasn't the only highlight of our trip. The whole experience onboard was excellent, friendly staff and an immaculately clean ship. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS CLEARLY A PRIORITY. We had a leaky tap fitting in the bathroom which we reported before going for dinner. We returned to find it totally replaced in the time it took us to eat. Ours was a med cruise. The excursions were good and value for money and information and advice were willingly given on the occasions we chose to venture ashore independently. We will cruise again and will certainly look at Celebrity first when choosing.

We had our first ever cruise aboard the magnificent Eclipse. We enjoyed an 8 night Norwegian Fjords cruise. Wow, what a ship and what a beautiful country! Being our first cruise, we were a little worried that we'd be surrounded by blue rinses and mobility scooters. How wrong we were. There was a great mix of people onboard, predominantly English with a contingent of people from North America. We were never short of anything to do on the ship because it was so big and there was so much choice. There is a great selection of restaurants - the main buffet style eatery was where we found ourselves most often, but we did try three of the speciality restaurants too, with Qsine being the standout for us. Norway itself is stunning. Mouth-gapingly, awe-inspiringly beautiful. We booked a couple of activities through the ship - kayaking and mountain biking - which were both well-organised and worth the extra to avoid the hassle. Overall, I'd say that this was one of the best holidays I've ever had. We were really made to feel special. We returned happy, relaxed and wondering when we could book our next cruise!
