There’s even a babysitting service available for an additional fee, meaning that parents could finally have the romantic meal that they’ve been talking about for years!
However, a holiday is also about bringing the family back together again and with family-friendly activities such as a cinema and arcade, as well as comfortable accommodation and flexible dining making mealtimes easier, Carnival Sunshine is the perfect ship on which to make memories together.
The onboard gym features modern equipment including treadmills and exercise bikes, and also boasts a fabulous sea view to keep you motivated.
After an intense workout, be sure to treat your soul with some healing time spent in the onboard spa. Whether you go along to relax in the tranquil surroundings or indulge by booking a luxurious treatment, you'll certainly leave feeling refreshed and uplifted.
One of the main onboard attractions is the brilliant at-sea waterpark, Carnival Waterworks. Boasting a splash zone, pools and a fun slide, both little ones and big kids will have great fun. Another popular spot is SportSquare, where there are facilities to play basketball, mini-golf, or have a go on the SkyCourse ropes course.
However, a cruise with Carnival Sunshine isn’t just about being on the go all the time. If you’d prefer to enjoy some more leisurely activities, there’s an array of things to do. Head to the pool deck, grab a sunlounger and spend the afternoon soaking up the sun and reading a book. If the weather isn’t looking so good, inside the ship guests will find a peaceful library, cafés and shops where you can pick up a holiday souvenir.
Day 1…From the second my husband and I stepped foot on the ship we had a bad taste in our mouths. We went straight to the bar to get a cocktail. The bartenders didn’t care if you stood there for 20 minutes waiting on them, which we did until I flagged a lady over. The bar service was like that at every bar for the entire 5 days. Day 2… Captains dinner. We waited forever and ever to even be acknowledged by a server. They were everything but pleasant to be around. I was almost afraid to ask for something in fear that they would spit in it. My husband had lobster and I ordered prime rib. His was great. My steak looked like a piece of ham. I didn’t dare send it back, so I ate it. I got food poisoning and violently threw up the entire night. Day 3… Half Moon Cay- Terrible set up.. Well they made 1 person from every stateroom go to another floor and get a numbered ticket. You then went to another floor to wait for your number to be called. Then you got on a boat and were shuttled to the island. Once it was time to leave the island we had to stand on line for well over an hour (In the sun! no shade what so ever) Worst experience hands down!! Casino- We ended up coming home with a $100.00 casino chip. I called customer service and they advised me to “send the chip back to them via certified mail “so I went to the post office and paid to send it to them. Once it was received they would issue me a check for the $100.00. I emailed him back and questioned what happens now and I was ignored and never received a response. So I called them and was told that the chip is not good on any ship/ever again so IF they sent it back to me, it should be considered a souvenir. They offered to give me $ 10 to replace the money I paid to send it to them certified. Bunch of crap Overall-before I write a story….SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND GO ON ANOTHER CRUISE LINE! ANY ON WILL TOP THIS HORRIFIC SHIP…
We have just come back from a 7 night western Caribbean cruise on the Sunshine. The food onboard was mostly good and plentiful, catering mainly for the American pallet. Burger bar was great, buffet breakfast had good selection. In the evening we ate in main restaurant (Sunset restaurant) which served 3 course evening meals which were mostly very good. Our room was an outside cabin and was spacious and spotlessly cleaned every day by our very friendly cleaner. The crew we met were all hospitable and friendly. We had excursions booked via the Shore excursions desk on-board for every port, but we found these trips to be expensive, chaotic and badly organized. We were also disappointed that there were no trips available on debarkation day - we had a whole day to spare before our late flight and nothing to do! A trip at Port Canaveral would have been most welcome instead of spending 6+ hours at Orlando airport. Other cruise lines do offer this (Norwegian Cruise lines do anyway). Entertainment on board was ok - the shows were fairly amateur but entertaining. And if you like karaoke then you are in for a treat! (I don't). All in all a good value for money cruise, cheaper than other lines but doesn't detract from a nice holiday.
This was our first cruise and we really enjoyed it. The staff were helpful and service was quick and friendly. We'd definitely recommend this ship for families. The only problem we had was the smoking indoors, horrible! Couple with the fact that you had to walk through the casino to get a dinner reservation, so you had to walk through the smoke, as they weren't too hot on keeping smokers by the bar.
We recently had a the best holiday in Florida and then on to the cruise for a week to Mexico. Wow what an experience. The stateroom we had was second to none. We had a private luxury sedan and chauffeur to collect us from the port to take us back to the airport. Another unexpected surprise. The whole time away was perfect and very relaxing. Would certainly do a cruise again, will start saving now!
