Borealis Reviews
View Cruise DealsVery British, excellent service, still has all the old fashioned level of service, plenty of crew.
Beautiful ship, excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. The standard of everything was superb, the entertainment and range of activities.
Everything great, all staff so friendly.
Easy relaxing start from liverpool. Easy check in. Staff from start including porter who came to get our bags out of the car to when we disembarked were fantastic.
Friendly, happy and prompt service throughout our cruise on the Borealis. The ship was spotless. Our cabin 1883 lovely and spacious. Elaine looked after our room 10/10. Beds folded down of an evening and a chocolate on our pillows. Good movies on our room TV. The food was very good throughout the ship.... as were the all inclusive drinks.. I thought the trips were expensive although our 4 hour trip was good but £99 each! This was our first Fred Olsen cruise and I would recommend it to my friends. My friends are all 60 plus. I would say 90 per cent of those guests onboard were over 60. I travelled with my 42 year old daughter and she too , had a fab time. We especially enjoyed the Queen tribute on the last evening in the Observatory. The ships décor and choice of bars was really nice. The recommended parking and check in worked like clockwork.
Check-in and disembarking procedures were excellent; cabin with picture window was comfortable, with good storage space and hangers, and shower was easy to use and worked well. The food was excellent in both the waited and self-service restaurants, with a large variety available, beautifully presented. The entertainment was very good every evening, and the gym and swimming pool provided good opportunities to keep fit. Speakers were entertaining and there was plenty to do in the several well-appointed lounges. It was great to use the laundry at a reasonable price, complete with free drying and ironing facilities. Also appreciated was the weekly church service. Excursions were good, but very pricey, as was the daily WiFi. However, plenty of opportunities were available for independent exploration of very interesting destinations. Beautiful scenery and an all-round excellent crew, from the captain downwards made this a memorable cruise.
Selected this cruise for it's itinery and was not disappointed. Would recommend it to anyone. Service was excellent. Food, entertainment etc mediocre. Although the ship has had a refurbish recently nothing changes on fred olsen cruise.
Borealis is a fantastic traditional cruise ship - not a floating block of flats! Everything (and everyone) on board was exceptional - nothing too much trouble. How do the staff keep a smile on their faces 24 hours a day?! As a 75 year old female solo traveller I was looked after like a princess (albeit a rather old one 🤣). Food and service excellent too. Despite a flood onboard that impacted my cabin at 3am I was moved to another cabin within half an hour & my onboard account credited with a day's costs by breakfast time. No queries! Will I cruise with Fred Olsen again? Hell yes!!
This was a very last minute cruise as our original, we cancelled very last minute and your company when I contacted them was very helpful in securing this cruise.
The ship is very good as are the staff. We think Iglu gives very good value for money.
