Celebrity Silhouette in the Caribbean

Cruise fans hoping to take in some of the sights of Europe in 2011 seem set to be well catered for by Celebrity Cruises.

The cruise liner is planning to bring all four of its Solstice-class ships to European waters together for the first time ever, enabling holidaymakers to travel to and from a host of destinations.

Flagship vessel Celebrity Solstice will spend much of this summer offering Caribbean cruises, but will spend the warmer months next year allowing passengers to enjoy their breaks from Barcelona.

Weighing a massive 122,000 tonnes and having the ability to cater for 2,852 passengers, the ship has a proven track record since being introduced into the cruising world in the winter of 2008.

Celebrity Silhouette will set sail for the first time next July by providing a trip from Hamburg to Rome, prior to setting sail on a Mediterranean cruise.

One of the most intriguing features of the ship is the inclusion for the first time in the industry of a half-acre Lawn Club, which utilises real grass.

Dan Hanrahan, president and chief executive of Celebrity Cruises, said: "We believe our summer destination line-up perfectly complements our commitment to designing cruise vacations around our guests' interests – a commitment that is central to our brand platform.

"Our guests told us what they wanted in ship design, cuisine, accommodations and innovations, and we designed our Solstice-class ships around those desires.

"We have designed a dynamic new cruise calendar valued by discerning cruisers and reflective of the same level of service and sophistication we offer onboard."

Meanwhile, those looking for cruises from the UK may prefer to climb on board the Celebrity Eclipse ship, which will sail out of Southampton in 2011, the same port in which it is launching from next month.

Mediterranean voyages will also be the name of the game for the Celebrity Constellation ship.

Passengers will be able to take advantage of 11 decks, with the ship recognised for boasting elegance and ambiance.

Furthermore, two outdoor swimming pools may find themselves busy on the warm summer days, while travellers may rather relax in one of the four Jacuzzis, hair salon or AquaSpa.

There is also a casino, card room and golf simulator for those interested in activities of this nature.
