Summary: This is our 5th cruise with P&O but the first on the Azura. Our cabin was on A deck starboard side at the rear of the amidships section. On arrival we found it to be clean and tidy and within a few minutes Cedric our cabin steward arrived to introduce himself. Our suitcases had all arrived within an hour.

We requested and got a 8 persons table this was in the Peninsular restaurant and the first evening meal was excellent. Our waiters Sanjay and Ranjith were very friendly and by the end of the cruise knew what we liked and how we liked it. The ships entertainment staff were a great bunch the quizzes were great and for the first time we had Wii Bowling which was great fun. Plenty of shows and deck games.

The seascreen and the Malabar cinemas showed some good films, horse racing and there was BINGO. The jackpot on the last night was £1715. The port stops on this trip were quite short and we called at Gibraltar, Messina, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Venice, Malta & Cadiz. Some were better than others but the star was Venice.

At all the ports the weather was dry and very sunny but in Venice it was crystal clear and the humidity was low following a violent thunderstorm the night before. I loved Venice, never been before, and would like to go back again, the sail in and sail away are truly spectacular. The only port I didn't like was Messina, to many local taxi drivers and sight seeing guides bothering us, trying to get us into their taxis etc, and they won't take no for an answer. Corfu was excellent, so clean and the locals made us welcome.

Malta, loves the Brits and they always give you a good deal and time. We had 5 black tie nights and 4 smart nights. The rest were dead casual. During this cruise we had one rough night on the way out, but not bad, even the Bay of Biscay was like a mill pond on the way back.

We really enjoyed this cruise and we were reluctant to get off back in Southampton on the 1st Oct! 7 nights of excellent travel and fun. Thanks to the crew of Azura.

Summary: Azura Western Med 31st August 2014. This was our third cruise with P&O and I have to say it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and professional. The entertainment was excellent especially Jimmy James who we saw twice, but they were all great.

The food was spot on. Shore excursions well organised, with the exception of Gibralter, we only had half day there and it was not enough. The ship was very well maintained, cabin always clean and the staff seemed happy, unlike Ventura last year. The only negative thing I can say about this cruise is that some of the passengers onboard were some of the most miserable I have ever seen on a cruise ship, I felt like shaking them and saying your on holiday for god sake.

I don't know why some people are so stuck up and seem to think they are better than others, but they need to get off there high horse and come down to earth. We all work very hard to have these holidays and it's those people who spoil it for all of us, so let me finish by saying P&O were excellent, but those stuck up passengers do us all a favor and stay at home in future.
