Best Reflective Blog Award
Ever since Zen and the Art of Motocycle Maintenance hit the bookshelves in the mid seventies, travel-related philosophy has been big business for publishers (although the success of Pirsig’s provocative bestseller has never been matched at the same scale).
Business aside, there are plenty of people blogging about their travel musings and reflections of the world in general solely for the sakes of intellectual exploration (and often playfulness). Our panel felt that this distinct class of travel writing was worth covering in its own category, since there are many reflective blogs currently active which we could not recommend highly enough. These awards were the result of much deliberation, but ultimately went to sites which are an absolute credit to the blogosphere and the many followers who read them regularly.
Each of our award winners serve up fascinating food for thought on a regular basis, and every one of them is written with an extraordinary level of penmanship. Blogs such as these present us with a unique take on their subject matter and our judges have taken care to select sites which give a broad cross-section of topics and locations. We’re positive that more than one of these highly readable journals will make it into your bookmark list.
